The Oregon DMV warns of a scam going around that involves emails or text messages that appear to be from the agency, telling people to "Pay Now" and click a link.
Officials say these messages are not legitimate and they do not come from Oregon DMV. They are fake messages meant to get the recipient to click on a link to provide personal information or send money. The Oregon DMV says it would never ask for personal information or a payment through an unsolicited text, email or phone call.
And DMV transactions should only be completed online at the DMV website or in person at a DMV office.
