inciweb

Two lightning-sparked  wildfires that started last week in Central Oregon continue to burn, but firefighters are making headway in their containment efforts.

The Boxcar Fire, near Maupin, grew to 96,000 acres Sunday after merging with the nearby South Junction Fire. It’s now 47 percent contained.

The Graham Fire is burning near Lake Billy Chinook, and remained at 2,055 acres Sunday. It is 50 percent contained.

The Graham Fire threatened numerous homes in the Three Rivers subdivision late last week, but  previously evacuated residents were allowed to return home on Saturday.
