INCIWEB

Fire crews are making progress on several wildfires burning across Oregon, but crews will be challenged as as a stretch of hot weather is forecast throughout the region this week.

The Bootleg Fire is 53% contained and is burning across almost 409,000 acres in South Central Oregon. This is the largest fire burning in the country.

The Jack Fire east of Glide on the Umpqua National Forest is burning on more than 21,000 acres and is 58% contained.

Crews are mopping up the Bruler Fire on the Willamette National Forest south of Detroit. That fire has burned 195 acres.

In northeast Oregon near the town of Wallowa, crews have reached 44% containment on the Elbow Creek Fire. That fire is burning on more than 22,000 acres.

Fire crews won’t get much help from the weather in the coming days. Warmer and drier conditions are forecast in many parts of the state this week. Above normal temperatures are expected, with the hottest conditions coming Thursday through Saturday.
