An emergency closure has been issued for areas around the Middle Fork Complex of fires north of Oakridge on the Willamette National Forest.
The Middle Fork Complex is made up of multiple, individual fires, with six fires at 100% containment, in the Fall Creek, Hills Creek Reservoir, and north of Huckleberry areas, and ranging in size from less than an acre to 300-plus acres. As of Tuesday morning, the fires were estimated to be burning across a total of 931 acres.
The closures apply to all roads, trails, campgrounds, developed recreation sites and dispersed camping in the area.
For a complete list of closed areas, visit the Willamette National Forest website and the Middle Fork Complex Facebook page.
Campfires are still prohibited on the entire Willamette National Forest because of very high fire danger and ongoing active fires.
Lightning caused 22 wildfires on the Middle Fork Ranger District on the Willamette National Forest during the week of July 26.
