UPDATE: The five missing people have been located and are in good health. The Lane County Sheriff's office says the group was located in the Box Canyon area off Forest Service road 19. "We want to thank the public for providing the tips necessary to focus our search efforts towards that area," said Lane County Sgt. Tom Speldrich.

Original story:

The Lane County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public to keep an eye out for a group of people who didn’t return from an outing to the mountains on Sunday. The party of five included a man, woman, two teenage boys, and a six-year-old boy. They were traveling in a blue/gray 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with Oregon license plate 475 KVB.

The Sheriff's office says the missing people are:

Jobee Baumgardner, age 37
Renell Baumgardner, age 33
Caleb Baumgardner, age 14
Colton Baumgardner, age 6
Thomas Blanton, age 14

The group didn’t return home after making what was expected to be a day trip to either Santiam Pass or Willamette Pass. The Sheriff's office says searchers are working with cellular providers to try to narrow down the search area.

Anyone who had contact with this group or vehicle yesterday, December 12th, is being asked to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4150.
