Icy roads & weather cause school delays and closures

Expect hazardous, icy conditions on roads throughout the Eugene-Springfield area Tuesday morning. Numerous crashes have ben reported throughout western Oregon. Delay travel if possible until temperatures rise, give plenty of extra time and space between vehicles if you do travel.

Drivers can view the latest road conditions by visiting ODOT’s website, Tripcheck.com. The Eugene Public Works Department is prepared to clear roads of snow and ice, according to the City of Eugene.

The weather is causing some delays and closures for school districts.

On two-hour delays Tuesday morning are:
Eugene 4J, Junction City, Siuslaw, Sweet Home, Bethel, Creswell, Springfield, Lincoln County, Eddyville Charter, Central Linn, Eugene Christian, Eugene Montessori, Sweet Home and Glide School District.

Marist High School is on a one-hour delay.

Willamette Leadership Academy, Mapleton, Monroe, Blachly, Crow-Applegate Lorane, and Fern Ridge school districts are closed.

Eugene 4J, Junction City, Lebanon Community School, Lebanon and Blodgett buses are on snow routes Tuesday morning, due to icy conditions.
