Ending weeks of speculation, the buyer of the Hynix manufacturing plant in Eugene has been announced.
Avago Technologies, a developer and supplier of semiconductor products, purchased the 1.2 million square foot complex for over $20 million.
The plant – empty for the last 7 years – will undergo some changes before opening for business. The design process will begin in 2016, while construction is slated to start in 2017.
The Eugene plant will be Avago’s second production site, the other is in Fort Collins, Colorado. Avago is headquartered in San Jose, California.
