Due to low attendance from the pandemic and the increase in COVID-19 cases in Lane County, south Eugene's Tamarack Wellness Center and Pool is closing.
The facility is known for its 92-degree therapeutic pool and extensive programs for special needs clients.
Its board made the decision last week, after the pool had briefly reopened following months of being shuttered. Federal Payroll Protection Program money had helped temporarily.
Tamarack opened in 1980. Before it closed for the pandemic, it employed 21 people.
Tamarack says if you’re a client who purchased a pre-paid punch card between March 1 and July 2 for future visits to the pool, you’ll get a full refund.
