As of Friday morning, just 9% of Lane County voters have returned their ballots for the May special election.
School elections had the highest turnout, with more than 9% of voters returning their ballots in the Lane Community College district election.
Water and sanitation districts had the lowest turnout, with less than 1% of voters in some areas returning their ballots.
In a news release this week, acting Lane County Clerk Lorren Blythe asked voters to get their ballots in as quickly as possible, and remember to sign their envelopes.
“Thanks to vote by mail, we have several ways voters in Lane County can return their ballots,” Blythe said. “Voters just need to be aware of the deadlines so they can make the decision most convenient for them.”
More than 26,000 people have voted county wide. Ballots must be returned before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
