The Mill Casino Hotel, which sits on the shores of Coos Bay, has been renamed. The new name is Ko-Kwel Casino Resort.

After 30 years of operations on Oregon’s south coast, tribal owners have decided to rename the Mill Casino Hotel and RV Park.

The new name will be Ko-Kwel Casino Resort.

That’s “Ko-Kwel” with a “K.”

The Coquille Tribe issued a statement on May 20 saying “it was time for the tribe’s long-standing gaming and hospitality brand to clearly represent tribal ownership.”

Transformed from an old sawmill, the Mill Casino originally opened in 1995. According to the tribe, about one million people visit the casino in North Bend each year.
