A Lebanon man died Saturday after the car he was living in, and two other vehicles, caught fire on the 700 block of W Grant Street in Lebanon.

In a news release, Lebanon Fire said multiple, simultaneous 911 calls came in at 9:20 a.m., reporting multiple cars on fire. Responding crews found two vehicles fully engulfed in flames.

As crews attempted to douse the flames, an explosion from inside one of the vehicles sent debris into nearby streets and yards.

Fire crews were able to keep the fire from entering the nearby house.

The remains of a local resident was found inside one of the cars. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries when the explosion occurred and were evaluated at a local hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Responding crews included 17 personnel from the Lebanon Fire Department.
