Fire and Rescue teams in Roseburg and Grants Pass have been awarded remote control, swift-water rescue equipment.
The Oregon Department of Emergency Management has delivered Emergency Integrated Lifesaving Lanyard, or EMILY, devices to the City of Grants Pass and Douglas County Fire District 2.
The equipment can be driven through dangerous water and bring a flotation device to a person in distress.
The awards were through the State Preparedness and Incident Response Equipment, or SPIRE, grant program.
