Oregon Governor Kate Brown is set to deliver a State of the State address at Portland City Club Friday.

The speech comes nearly two months after Brown took office following the resignation of John Kitzhaber amidst a criminal ethics investigation.

It will be the third high-profile speech from an Oregon governor this year.

In January, Kitzhaber delivered his inaugural address for his new term in office. Then in February, after Kitzhaber resigned, new governor Kate Brown delivered an address to a joint session of the Oregon legislature when she was sworn in.

It’s not the usual thing to have a State of the State address at this time, but it hasn’t been a typical year in Oregon state politics.

Brown's office says the governor will focus on creating opportunities for Oregonians who haven't benefited from the state's economic recovery.
