CentralORFire Twitter

Evacuation orders are in place after a wildfire broke out Sunday afternoon about 14 miles northeast of Sisters. The Grandview Fire quickly spread south and had burned an estimated 2,000 acres as of Sunday night.

The fire is burning on Oregon Department of Forestry lands and the Crooked River Grassland. The blaze spread rapidly Sunday as it burned through grass and juniper.

Numerous resources were mobilized to the fire, including wildland engines, dozers, resources from structural agencies, and contract crews.  Single engine air tankers (SEATs) and large air tankers continued to drop retardant on the fire until dark.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
