The University of Oregon Women’s Basketball team fell to Stanford in the Pac-12 Tournament Championship game in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

The Ducks were behind from the start and while they secured a narrow lead in the fourth quarter, Stanford finished with a 16 to 3 run to take the championship title with a final score of 64 to 57.

Junior forward Sabrina Ionescu scored 27 points and had 12 rebounds, while Ruthy Hebard contributed 13 points in the Ducks’ failed effort to defend their Pac-12 Championship title.

Both teams are waiting to hear their fate for the NCAA Tournament that begins March 22nd. The Ducks, who were regular season Pac-12 champs for the second straight year, have been poised to host the first round before heading to the Portland Regional.

The NCAA Tournament field is announced on Monday, March 18, at 4 p.m.
