Oregon Falls To No. 1 Baylor In First Final Four Appearance

University of Oregon’s Final Four debut was a thriller with 12 ties and 12 lead changes, but in the end, No. 1 Baylor came out on top as the No. 2 Ducks fell with a final score of 72-67.

Junior guard Sabrina Ionescu ended up with 18 points in the Ducks’ effort. Oregon’s Satou Sabally contributed 16 points and Erin Boley had 14.

While a trip to the NCAA Championship game was not to be had for Ionescu and the Ducks this year, on Thursday Ionescu received the Wade Trophy, given to the nation’s most outstanding player. She was also awarded her second Nancy Lieberman Award, marking her as the nation’s top point guard.

On Sunday, Baylor will face fellow No. 1 seed and defending champs, Notre Dame.
