Oregon prevailed in a narrow win Saturday night against Washington State (4-4) at a sold out Autzen stadium.
The Cougars scored a touchdown to take a 1-point lead with only a minute left in the game, but a strong offensive drive down the field allowed Oregon’s freshman Camden Lewis to kick a 26-yard field goal as the clocked expired to take the 37-35 win. The victory moved the Ducks to 7-1 on the season and snapped a four game losing streak to the Cougars.
Oregon’s CJ Verdell ran for a career-high 257 yards and three touchdowns for the Ducks.
No. 11 Oregon hasn’t lost since the season opener against Auburn (6-2) and is the only team in the Pac-12 without a conference loss. The Ducks return to action at USC (5-3) next weekend.
