University of Oregon football ended up at No. 13 for the 2019 season, and on Friday they’ll play for the Pac-12 title.
The Ducks finished the regular season with a 10-2 overall record, winning the Pac-12 North. Now Oregon faces the winner of the Pac-12 South, No. 5 Utah, in the conference title game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Ducks were undefeated at Autzen Stadium this year, and Senior quarterback Justin Herbert’s 94 touchdown passes are the most among active FBS players.
Second year head coach Mario Cristobal says even though the team has seen great success this year, he’s still looking forward to what the future will bring. At this week’s press conference, Cristobal said “the trajectory just continues to go up and up and up and at the rate which our players are developing both in the classroom and on the football field- at the rate that we are acquiring talent- it’s just really exciting. It makes you want more and more and more.”
A win on Friday would not only earn the Ducks the Pac-12 Championship, but would send them to their eighth appearance in the New Year’s Day Rose Bowl. The game will be broadcast on ABC. Kickoff is at 5:14pm.
