Saturday’s high winds and driving rains caused hazardous conditions across the KLCC listening area.
In Florence, gusts neared 40 miles per hour, while 40 yards worth of rock and dirt covered Highway 101 north of the coastal community. All lanes were closed for several hours while crews cleared the landslide.

In Eugene, a Boy Scout troop canceled their Eagle Scout project at Hendricks Park beucase of winds nearing 35 miles per hour. A tree at least 80 feet tall fell across a trail at the park, but no one was hurt.
And across Lane and Lincoln Counties, several power outages were reported, mostly due to fallen trees or branches.
The National Weather Service has issued a warning for coastal areas as sneaker waves are possible from Washington through the central Oregon Coast through Monday afternoon.
A Winter Storm Warning is in place for central Douglas County from 10:00 pm Sunday through 10:00 pm Monday. Heavy snow is expected for areas above 2500 feet. Snow levels may drop to around 2000 feet, possible affecting the Illinois valley and passes on I-5 between Grants Pass and Roseburg.
