Record-Breaking Crowds Expected at Garth Brooks Concert

Amy Brenneman

Record-breaking crowds are coming to Autzen Stadium this weekend for the Garth Brooks concert.

More than 60,000 people are expected to attend Garth Brooks’ concert at Autzen Stadium, breaking its attendance record for any single event, and will also be the largest concert ever performed in Oregon.

The country singer’s Stadium Tour is breaking attendance records all over the country. Brooks tells KLCC he is looking forward to playing in Eugene.

“They’ll be a lot of people that come to Eugene for the first time, for this. Eugene has a chance to win fans themselves. To see what a beautiful community it is and I think that’s always it,” says Brooks. “I feel like I’m doing people a favor if they’ve never come to Eugene and this is why they’re coming. I’m doing them a favor because this is a great community.”

Due to the high volume of people attending the concert, Eugene Police are asking people to be extra cautious driving in the area Saturday night and to expect a lot of traffic.
