Tomorrow’s third annual Willamette River Festival is adding several new events focusing on indigenous culture in the Willamette Valley.
Michelle Emmons, director of the festival, says she’s looking forward to these new events.
“So we have some really wonderful workshops that are celebrating the art of the Kalapuya people, as well as ethnobotany and we have a talking stones tour,” says Emmons.
Emmons adds there will also be educational booths and classic water activities, such as their paddle race.
The festival starts at 11 at Alton Baker Park. The money collected will be used to expand future festivals into a two-day event.
