The Eugene Symphony On The Air: Soundwaves
The Eugene Symphony completes the three-part exploration of its Soundwaves virtual concert series by showcasing the string orchestra pieces performed last season. In this episode, you’ll hear Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s buoyant Noveletten No. 1 in A Major, Dmitri Shostakovich’s searing Chamber Symphony, Op. 110a, and finally, Edward Elgar’s joyful Serenade, Op. 20. Each of these composers bring different perspectives to their work but are all connected through their deep love and understanding of string instruments. Music Director & Conductor Francesco Lecce-Chong shares his insights and Conducting Fellow Daniel Cho hosts.
