One of Eugene’s biggest events, Halloween Downtown, aims to bring the community together while offering a few scares and candy.
Events include a scavenger hunt, a live DJ, a photobooth and of course, trick-or-treating. Ben Schorzman with the City of Eugene’s Cultural Services said celebrating Halloween at a time when uncertainty still looms about is a good way to boost morale.
“Cultural services is all about bringing people together and enjoying our beautiful city, specifically downtown has been a focus for us these last few years and having these sorts of events brings people downtown who don’t normally come here, just to enjoy some music, and see the cool costumes and I really this it is a big lift,” Schorzman said.
Schorzman says he’s most excited for Thrill the World’s performance that will close out the event. Halloween Downtown goes from 12-4 p.m. Saturday and masks are required when physical distance isn’t possible.
