Crews are still fighting a wildfire, known as the Aubrey Mountain Fire, a few miles east of Oakridge that prompted evacuations and the temporary closure of Highway 58.

The fire, which sparked Thursday, led to evacuations around Roberts Ranch and Dunning Road. Those areas have been downgraded to level 2, which means be ready to leave at a moments notice.

Highway 58 re-opened Friday afternoon - though traffic is still limited and flaggers and pilot cars are directing traffic. Drivers should keep an eye out for firefighting equipment on the side of the road. Officials say the road could close again if fire conditions change.

The Aubrey Mountain Fire had grown to an estimated 35 acres and is 50 percent contained, according to Willamette National Forest Service staff. The cause is still under investigation.
