Alexa Ro, Cassie Candles and the Sandal Vandals, and Lola Skinner at The Barn Light Bar
Alexa Ro and Cassie Candles and the Sandal Vandals are joined by traveling musician Lola Skinner for a night of earthy folk pop and ethereal dream pop music.
Alexa Ro is a vocalist and songwriter who sprouted up in the Pacific Northwest singing and traveled her songs around the country. With a voice once described as "crushed velvet with power", she weaves folk pop tunes accompanied by electric ukulele. Her songs are inspired by nature, the healing journey, and blooming forth.
Cassie Candles is a queer dreampop artist based in Eugene. She writes through her life experiences navigating romance and attachment, and leaving home, among other topics. After years producing in the isolation of her bedroom, she's breaking into the local music scene alongside her feral band of Sandal Vandals, with bassist David Davis, violinist Leda Glastonbury, and drummer Ogma Witting-Seanchai. Together, they channel magical, danceable dreampop.
Lola Skinner can be described as a “Silly indie goober who uses humor to make the truth palatable.” and “Like if your childhood hamster wrote songs about your wildest dreams.” Van-lifing, rollerblading, circus clown in training, Lola loves to relay her most eccentric personal details with the aid of her trusty banjo and guitar.
You can hear their music live at The Barn Light Bar located at 924 Willamette St in Eugene on Sunday February 16th, starting at 6pm. $5 cover, but no one turned away for lack of funds.
