Synopsis: After a successful first novel, Penny Pensive is afflicted by a bad case of writer’s block. While working on a sequel, she has orchestrated the murder of her main character's husband, but now she is unsure how to proceed. She takes a nap, only to be awakened—or is it a dream?—by loud knocking on the door. When she opens it, she is confronted by a woman who claims to be her main character, Verity Semper! Verity bitterly complains about her husband Frank's recent murder, which mirrors the events in Penny’s manuscript. Initially, Penny dismisses Verity’s story as a hoax, but she soon becomes convinced she is face-to-face with her own creation. The ensuing passionate debate between author and character delves into the author’s psyche, seeking a solution to Penny's writer's block. The story begins with internal conflict and concludes with a mystery!
