On March 23rd, 1996, the Coastal-Aires Barbershop Chorus stepped onto the Alice Silverman stage of the Newport Performing Arts Center as an officially chartered chorus of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA), now known as the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). Their show-opening song, “Look Out World,” set the stage and let the audience know that they had arrived and were ready to sing!

Thirty years later, the Coastal-Aires Barbershop Chorus invites the community to a musical “Class Reunion” paying tribute to three decades of creating barbershop harmonies, memories, and life-long friendships.

The milestone performance will take place at 2 pm on September 20th, at the First Presbyterian Church located at 227 NE 12th Street, Newport, Oregon. Admission is a suggested donation of $10. A silent auction of gift baskets featuring local artisans and businesses, as well as Beatles memorabilia, African art, and other collectibles, will take place during intermission.
