ENDNOTES: A Reading in Voice, Instrument, and Dance
ENDNOTES: A Reading in Voice, Instrument, and Dance
Kelly Terwilliger, Eugene poet, artist and storyteller, invites you to the launch of ENDNOTES, her new book of poetry, image and commentary.
With ENDNOTES: A Reading in Voice, Instrument, and Dance, Kelly and friends offer a multi-dimensional, multi-vocal evening of poetry and prose read aloud, accompanied by painted images and additional commentary in the language of fiddle, percussion, recorder and dance.
Starting with a single poem, ENDNOTES blossoms into paintings that amplify the words. It continues to expand as ideas emerge and branch and extend in the form of notes, sub-notes, and footnotes. ENDNOTES shows us into a world full of possibility, and invites us in.
Kelly Terwilliger and other artists will perform ENDNOTES: A Reading in Voice, Instrument, and Dance on Saturday, April 18, 7–9 p.m. at the United Universalist Church of Eugene, 1685 W 13th. In addition to the book launch and performance, a portion of book sales will be donated to Food for Lane County. A reception will follow the reading.
Participants include: Kelly Terwilliger, words
Jenny Root, words
Tanya Bunsen, fiddle
Beau Eastlund, percussion
Connie Newman, recorder
Mayim Stiller, dance
“ENDNOTES is magical and delightfully curious (wondering and strange); it is playful but also very moving and deeply serious…. With this lovely book, Kelly Terwilliger, brilliant oral storyteller, poet and artist, has given us an exquisite gift.”
–Karen McPherson, author of Skein of Light
