Making Space for Salmon - Restoring Siuslaw River Estuary
Making Space for Salmon - Restoring Siuslaw River Estuary
In the summer of 2023, partners from across the Siuslaw Basin began the first phase of tidal wetland restoration on Waite Ranch, a 217-acre property on the Siuslaw River. Nearly a decade in the making, this project will benefit Oregon's central coast's fish, wildlife, and people.
You're invited to join us on Tuesday, May 14th at 7pm at City Lights Theatre in Florence for a community conversation about this restoration project.
Our partners in restoration from the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians and the Siuslaw Watershed Council will kick off the evening with a short presentation about the project, followed by a panel discussion and community conversation about the future of Waite Ranch.
Join us and learn about the purpose, science, and vision for restoring this area. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion where you can bring your questions, concerns, or hopes to our restoration team.
Seating will be limited to 70 participants. To help us plan for refreshments, we encourage but do not require, you to RSVP before the event.
