A free community event to learn about and celebrate the first day of Kwanzaa!

Kwanzaa is African American/Black cultural recognition of seven life-affirming principles, the Ngubo Saba, or the seven principles in Swahili.

Sanibonani, an innovative musical theater group which explores the South African origins of dance and music, will give a musical performance. (Sanibonani also performs in February at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.)

The keynote speaker at this Kwanzaa celebration will be Dr. Tarik Richardson from Xavier University in New Orleans.

All are welcome, and there will be snacks and refreshments after the show!
