Unlock the Heart of Your Memoir

Unlock the Heart of Your Memoir

Bust the memoir myths and find your story’s true core at an immersive intensive workshop with Valerie Ihsan.

Join us for a full-day workshop designed to empower you in your memoir writing journey. Through creative exercises and group discussions, you’ll gain clarity and confidence in your storytelling.

Memoir writers often feel overwhelmed by myths and misconceptions about telling their story on the page. You might struggle to find your unique voice, clarify your core message, or even know where to start. It can feel daunting to share personal experiences in a way that can resonate with readers.

It can be a frustrating and isolating experience. You might feel lost in a sea of self-doubt, unsure of how to weave your experiences into a compelling narrative.

If you’ve been going it alone with your memoir–writing what you can, skimming a few books, searching online writing tips, or struggling through drafts without guidance–you might have found yourself left in confusion with a lack of progress.

A supportive community, engaging exercises, and expert guidance can transform your memoir writing experience.

This full-day intensive workshop offers a warm and supportive space to explore your memoir with practical exercises and guided reflections. You’ll break down the barriers that hold you back and discover the richness of your own story.

This workshop is tailored for folks interested in memoir writing, whether you’re just beginning or looking to refine an existing piece. If you’re eager to dive deep into your personal narrative and connect with fellow writers, this is for you!

Here’s what you’ll take away from the workshop:
-Discover Your Memoir’s Core Message: Identify the central themes that resonate with you and your readers.
-The Key Elements of Memoir Writing: From defining your narrative arc to developing complex characters and tapping into the emotional truth of your experiences you’ll learn what you need to make your writing engaging and effective.
-Break Through Memoir Myths: Learn the truth about memoir writing, how to balance fact with storytelling, and understand the boundaries of personal narrative.
-Character Development with Tarot/Oracle Decks: Engage in a unique hands-on exercise to explore your characters’ motivations, desires, and growth.
-Memoir Writing Exercises: Get inspired by powerful, effective exercises from Rachael Herron’s book that will help you boost your writing clarity and speed.
-Interactive Group Discussions: Share insights and receive constructive feedback, and build a supportive writing community.
-Practical Takeaways: Leave with valuable tools, writing prompts, and a clearer vision for your memoir project.

Join us for a day of inspiration, creativity, and connection as we help you bring your memoir to life! This workshop is designed to inspire, challenge, and support you in creating a memoir that’s rich with authenticity and meaning.
