"What's to Fear?" The first in a series of six Community Philosophy Discussions at the Downtown Eugene Public Library
Fear is one of the most powerful human emotions. It affects the choices we make in our daily lives, and plays a starring role in our political discourse. Even so, fear may be the least-discussed of the major human emotions. Is it possible that we are afraid to think about fear? If so, why? This discussion is an opportunity to reflect on the nature of fear, and the roles it does and should play in our personal lives, relationships, and society. The perfect topic to usher in Halloween.
The Community Philosophy Circle is a monthly forum for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and share opinions and ideas in a structured, nonthreatening community discussion. Through public discourse, people are invited to express opinions and respond to the opinions of others as they tackle deep and universal questions about life, identity, community and responsibility. Community Philosophy Circles take place at 6:00pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the downtown Eugene Public Library.
