Community Rights Lane County and UO Native American & Indigenous Studies Department are honored to host a presentation on “Prophesies, Seeds, and the Rights of Mother Earth” by Winona LaDuke in the EMU Ballroom on Tuesday, March 4th at 6pm.

Winona is a celebrated Native American activist, economist, and author, who has devoted her life to advocating for Indigenous control of their homelands, natural resources, and cultural practices. She was a leader at the 2016 Dakota Access Pipeline protests that sought to protect water access and sacred Indigenous lands in North Dakota.The former Green Party nominee for Vice President of the United States and Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year is also a founding director of the White Earth Land Recovery Project and a former Executive Director of Honor the Earth. An internationally respected environmental leader, Winona LaDuke works to this day on issues of climate change, indigenous and human rights, renewable energy, and food systems.
