Eugene Police Sergeant Wayne Dorman is investigating a string of recent burglaries targeting food trucks.

Eugene police say a series of burglaries have targeted food trucks and coffee stands in the last month.

Sergeant Wayne Dorman said they’re investigating 15 recent incidents.

“Occasionally we’d get a food truck or one of these food stands broken into,” he said in a video news release. “We get them sporadically. It’s not unusual. This is clearly an uptick. And somebody’s specifically targeting those over the last couple months.”

Dorman said they’re seeking tips on possible suspects. And they think there may be more thefts going unreported and urge anyone who’s had their food cart burglarized to contact EPD. The suspects have mainly been stealing cash registers. Dorman advises not leaving cash or valuables in food trucks overnight.
