There are over a dozen wildfires burning around Oregon, many of them fairly contained.
The largest one – the Indian Creek Fire – is in the eastern part of the state, burning southeast of the Malheur National Forest. It’s currently at 48,128 acres and is 75% contained.
The Sweet Creek Milepost 2 Fire is at 382 acres and 30% contained, southeast of Mapleton. Evacuation orders are in place.
The P-515 and Lionshead fires are burning on the Warm Springs Reservation. Combined, these fires are over 13,200 acres. The P-515 is 95% contained and Lionshead is 30% contained.
The Laurel Fire is just under 1,300 acres and is 60% contained, burning in Wheeler County.
The Beachie Creek Fire in the Opal Creek Wilderness is 50 acres and 0% contained.
And, the White River Fire on the Mt. Hood National Forest is 16,356 acres and at 40% containment. Though some evacuation orders have lowered – and there are no level 3 orders in place anymore - several others are still in place. For more information, head to our website klcc-dot-org.
The New Evacuation levels and areas are as follows:
Level 2 GET READY for Pine Grove from the area east from Bear Springs Ranger Station along Hwy 216 through Pine Grove to the intersection of Endersby Rd and 216, also included are all of Endersby Rd, Linns Mill Rd and Kelly Springs Rd has been lowered to Level 2 GET READY.
Level 1 GET READY: All residences east side of Endersby Rd and East Side of Kelly Springs Rd to Hwy 197 have been lowered to Level 1 Get Ready.
LEVEL 1 GET SET for the area from Woodcock Rd to Driver Rd to White River Crossing to include Muller Rd, Smock Rd, Ayres Rd, Barber Lane and Barlow Rd have been lowered to LEVEL 1 GET READY.
The LEVEL 1 GET READY evacuation has been lifted for Pine Hollow, Wamic, Maupin and east side of Hwy 197 to include Oak Springs Rd and Old Wanpinita Rd have been lifted.
Sportsman’s Park remains at LEVEL 1 GET READY.
