A brush fire near The Dalles is 70% contained as of Thursday morning.
The Milepost 85 Fire burned 130 acres in grass, brush, and scattered timber on both sides of I-84.
The freeway was closed Wednesday when power lines fell across the road. They were removed and I-84 was reopened. Level 3 evacuations were reduced to Level 1 and residents were allowed to return home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
