Skiers and Snowboarders Return to Oregon's Slopes
Long lines, face coverings and lots of gratitude marked the start of the winter ski season on Mt. Bachelor outside Bend.
“The weather’s good. The snow is good. The lines are to be expected given it’s a limited opening.”
Season passholders like Bill Calder got first crack at the mountain this week under new rules to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Mt. Bachelor will enforce social distancing and mask use around the resort. It’s also requiring skiers and snowboarders to make online reservations.
Brand director Leigh Capozzi says the rules give Mt. Bachelor its best shot at a safe and full season.
“We wanna ski from December through May.”
Mt. Bachelor opens to the general public on Friday, December 11.
