The Lane County Farmers Market opens its winter Market this Saturday (Feb. 5).
It’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Park Blocks in downtown Eugene. Covid-19 safety guidelines are in place so customers are required to wear face coverings and maintain 6 feet of social distance as much as possible. “With COVID-19 safety guidelines still in place, unfortunately the market can’t function as a social event or community gathering place yet, but it’s still a great excuse to get outside, support local farmers and food artisans, and get some really high-quality fresh food”, said Meghan Verberkmoes, Communications Manager for the Market.
In a press release, the Verberkmoes shared what is available at the Winter Market:

salad mix, beets, overwintered carrots, turnips, daikon radish, leeks, onions, potatoes, winter squash, cabbage, kale, and more. Shoppers will also find a great variety of local meat and eggs, seafood from the Oregon coast, mushrooms, honey, and prepared foods like empanadas, tamales, and salsas.
The Winter Market will continue Saturdays through March 27th. The “main season” starts in April.
The Market accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
