Bethel School District has pared down the field of candidates to replace retiring superintendent Chris Parra from 21 to three. The school board will have a second round of interviews Thursday, after conducting background checks.
Spokesperson Pat McGillivray said during spring break, online sessions will allow people outside the board to ask questions. “In the community forum atmosphere," he told KLCC, "folks from the general public can get an idea of what these folks are like, what these candidates are like, what they have to say, what their thoughts are on leading Bethel School District.”
The finalists are: Bernadette Hall-Cuaron, a Teacher Leader Facilitator in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Dan Hedberg, Principal of Bethel’s Willamette High School; and Kraig Sproles, an Assistant Superintendent of Salem-Keizer schools. McGillivray says the board will announce a decision at its April 12th meeting.
