Most students in the Eugene 4J school district will return full time this fall to new COVID-19 mandates. Others have the option of taking online classes.

Students will be required to wear a mask and take other precautions, and as of Aug. 19 teachers will need to be vaccinated. For students not ready to come back, 4J Chief of Staff, Kerry Delf said the district will once again offer online classes.

“4J has gone that extra step to offer online options for families and create an online option for students in elementary school who would prefer an online classroom setting with a combination of real time teacher directed instruction and some independent learning activities.”

Delf said she expects following changing restrictions because of COVID-19 will continue to be a challenge this year. The last day to enroll students for online classes is August 23 and the school year begins Sept. 1.
