As of Friday morning, the Howard Buford Recreation Area- Mt. Pisgah fire is at least 75 percent contained.
Dave Kjosness of the Oregon Department of Forestry, says fire crews are making a lot of headway.
“We are mopping up into the interior. We were at 50 feet in around the entire perimeter and we’re closer to 100 or 100 plus in some places at this point.”
The fire had burned 51 acres before fire crews were able to stop its spread. The cause is still unknown. It is projected the area will remain closed until at least Sunday.
