HIV Alliance has a new address in Eugene: 1195A City View Street. The agency made the move to increase capacity for additional services. Since 1994, HIV Alliance has operated out of a comfy but crowded, two story house on Garden Avenue. The organization, provides care and advocacy for thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Alliance spokesman William Bourget says the non-profit has outgrown the space.
“We’ve been eyeing a new building for a while,” Bourget said. “This was not just a decision we made by the seat of our pants. Over the years, we’ve been able to save money and reach out to people who would be willing to support. So when we were ready to take on the project, we had a lot of people who made in-kind donations whether that was in the form of construction or volunteers coming through.”
Bourget says the new building on City View in west Eugene, offers a spacious waiting room and more private space for clients. National HIV Testing Day is June 27th.
