On Saturday, Lane County Public Health reported two new positive test results of COVID-19. This puts the number of positive cases in the county at 4, including one person who tested positive after their death.

The third positive case is a man in his 50s who lives in a private residence in the Eugene-Springfield area and drives a school bus for Eugene 4-J School District. He’s said to be medically stable and remains at home.

4-J reportedly began direct outreach to parents of students who may have been on a small number of his school bus routes on March 10th and 11th. Health officials maintain “the children are not considered high risk to exposure” of the virus. (Parents with questions may contact Lane County Public Health Non-Emergency Call Center at 541-682-1380.)

The fourth positive case is a woman in her 70s with a domestic travel history. She was hospitalized on March 19th at PeaceHealth RiverBend in Springfield, a test was administered and positive results were confirmed Saturday.

Investigations into both cases are ongoing. Individuals who had contact with either patients will be contacted and advised to self-isolate for 14-days after potential exposure.
