On Thursday, Douglas County reported the highest single-day new COVID-19 case count since the beginning of the pandemic.
The 44 new cases come after multiple days this week with growing case counts. The county’s COVID-19 response team worries it’s losing its edge in combating the pandemic.
The county also announced the highest three-day consecutive total of 116 new cases. Douglas County is set to remain in the High Risk category after Friday, but the spike in cases could put it on a path back to Extreme Risk.
