Lane County Public Health opened a drive-through COVID-19 vaccination and booster clinic in Eugene Tuesday. It’s dedicated to community members with mobility challenges.
The new drive-up clinic is meant to ensure vaccination access to folks with physical or developmental disabilities, those who have difficulty navigating large, indoor spaces, or for a parent with small children in the backseat.
For months, Public Health has been providing first and second doses at walk-in clinics at the Lane Events Center. Steve Adams, COVID-19 Incident Commander, said community feedback prompted this new drive-through clinic clinic.
“It’s much smaller than what people will recall from the spring,” he said. “It’s three lanes of capacity. It really and truly is for those people who really need that drive-through facility and where to get their shot.”
Adams said this week, the drive-through clinics will operate noon to 2pm Tuesday through Thursday and 10am to 2 pm on Friday.
