Lane County Public Health to resume COVID-19 booster clinics, offering Moderna only

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

After a successful launch of pediatric COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Lane County, public health officials are gearing up to resume offering boost doses to adults starting next week.

More than 20% of the county’s 5 to 11 year-old population got a first dose of vaccine in the first two weeks of operations. Now, health officials say they’re confident in their capacity to keep meeting pediatric demand AND return to serving adults, 18 and older, with boosters.

Ann Marie Levis is interim spokesperson for Lane County Public Health. “We’ve had an overwhelming demand for Moderna boosters so at least in the near future- the next week or so, we will be focusing all of our booster efforts on the Moderna booster only,” she said.

The drive-up booster clinics begin November 30 at the Lane Events Center lot and appointments are advised. Levis said anyone seeking a Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson booster should check with their pharmacy or primary care provider.
