The director of Lane County's Egan Warming Center has reportedly resigned for personal reasons. An administrator says the program will continue to operate without disruption as St. Vincent de Paul looks to fill the position.

Pete Kerns, chief of staff at St. Vinny’s, says Shelley Corteville served the program well and was a dedicated leader. He says until they find someone new, the center has divided up Corteville’s  duties to other workers.

“The good news is that we put together a leadership structure with all the responsibilities of running the Egan program [distributed] among 6 people, so that it wasn’t a huge burden for just one person,” Kerns says.

It’s unknown when they’ll have a new program director, he says, but he’ll include input from current volunteers and site leaders during the hiring process. Corteville was the director of Egan Warming Center for 8 years.
