People looking for some outdoor recreation in the Willamette Valley will have another option starting Friday.
Oregon State University says it’s re-opening its McDonald and Dunn Research Forests near Corvallis for all recreation activities. The trails were closed March 23 as part of the effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The university says the forests will open on a trial basis and could close again if visitors don’t observe social distancing guidelines.
The news comes as Gov. Kate Brown announced this week that a limited number of state parks have re-opened for day use. Most state parks remain closed to the public, as do US Forest Service trailheads.
