Oregon athletes had a good showing in the first two days of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.
On Wednesday, Kobe Lawrence scored the first points for the Ducks, finishing fourth in the shot put, with a personal best throw of 66'8". Other Oregon men moved to the final rounds of the steeplechase, 800 meter, and 1500 meter races.
On Thursday, Oregon’s Emily Fitzsimmons was sixth in the pole vault with a lifetime best clearance of 14’ 6 3/4”, three Duck women qualified for the 1500 meter final, and Aaliyah McCormick made the 100 meter hurdle final, with the second-fastest qualifying time.
The men's competition concludes Friday and the women's final events are Saturday.
