More than 10,000 runners from all over the U.S. and globe ran the Eugene Marathon Sunday. The event holds personal meaning for many participants, as well as administers an economic booster shot for the immediate region.

The Eugene Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday expects a record-shattering number of runners. Officials say 10,000 runners are signed up for Sunday’s races, and another 4,000 for Saturday’s 5-kilometer race and kids’ Duck Dash.
